Hewitt earned her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law where she served as a legal writing instructor. After graduating in 1995, she began her practice in Florida, honing her litigation and appellate skills. She returned to her home state of Maine in 2005 where she continued her consulting practice before returning to litigation.
